Mending and Clothing Repairs Workshop with Mend House | Saturday 25th May

£45.00

London-based Saskia started the Mend House in 2020 with the vision of building a community of likeminded people who champion repair and longevity over consumption and waste in the fashion business.

Saskia will introduce you to a repair method that is suitable for woven items e.g. a cotton sun dress or a linen jacket. Whether you have a hole under the arm or a worn-down pair of jeans in the knees, this will help you both repair the item and give it new life. You will first practise the method on small samplers and then Saskia will take you through step by step how to repair and refresh your chosen item. You will leave feeling confident in your mending skills and ready to get looking through your wardrobe for more repairs!

This is an opportunity to embrace slowness and sustainability and meet like-minded people who are interested in repair. Suitable for complete beginners. All materials will be provided.

Please feel free to bring a woven item of clothing you’d like to mend once you’ve practiced the basics or you can continue on the materials provided.

Workshop will last two hours. A selection of pastries and non-alcoholic refreshments will also be included.

There are two sessions with 12 spaces available on Saturday 25th May at 11am - 1pm & 2.30pm-4.30pm at our Pophams Home workshop space next to Pophams Bakery, 197 Richmond Road, E8 3NJ
