Large Octagonal Serving Dish by Jack Welbourne
Currently based in his Cardiff studio, Jack Welbourne gained experience both in the UK and Sweden whilst honing his skills in gas-fired, hand-thrown pottery. Inspired by traditional techniques and values, each functional piece is elevated by contemporary designs and mark marking in-keeping with the style of Studio Pottery. Working with locally sourced materials such as clay and wood ash he aims to capture a more earthen and elemental feel, allowing you to bring into your home a ‘living work of art’ which excites you with every use.
An octagonal serving dish, made using red Cornish clay which has been gas-fired to create a rugged and toasted finish. This weighty dish would look just as good as a decorative sideboard piece as it would on the dining table. Finished in a contrasting soft sage green glaze with a wax-resist design.
