Ash Glazed Snack Bowl by Ingot Objects

Under the name of Ingot Objects, Glasgow-based Jonathan creates a range of wheel-thrown and hand-built objects which have as low an impact on the environment as possible. Utilising local materials - such as foraged wild clay and wood ash - to create textures and glazes which celebrate the impurities and imperfections of the natural materials themselves. Designed to be both functional and characterful, his designs heavily feature tableware such as plates bowls and cups elevated to enhance the ritual of everyday drinking and dining.

This small snacking bowl is made from rugged stoneware clay which has been foraged from the local landscape. The glaze has been made using ash collected from nature reserves after scrub clearance, the reaction between the slip and ash glaze creates a beautifully soft olive green finish. We love how the glaze pools at the bottom of the bowl to create a deeper, glossy green finish.
