These small, rustic brown plates are perfect for serving nibbles or decorating. These plates are made using gravel by-product from the China Clay industry in Cornwall, and
decorated with a glaze made of wood ash and hand dug London clay, fired in reduction in a
gas kiln over 8 hours.
Ellen Pearce-Davies creates work influenced by traditional craft practices, producing carefully made everyday objects that feel both practical and uplifting to use. She prioritises natural and reclaimed materials, and works mainly with traditional, hands-on techniques. A lot of the clay she uses is dug up and prepared by her own hand, and she has a particular interest in experimenting with wood ash glazes.
