Based in East London and specialising in reduction-fired pieces, a lot of what influences Grace’s work is the raw clay and the firing process; her excitement over ceramics comes from the relationship between both of these elements and the ever-changing outcomes.
These side plates are made from a grogged sand coloured clay which give them a wonderful weight and texture. Thrown on the wheel, the edges are then indented by hand so they have visible finger marks which make each one unique. Clear gloss glaze on top and unglazed underneath.
