Currently based in his Cardiff studio, Jack Welbourne gained experience both in the UK and Sweden whilst honing his skills in gas-fired, hand-thrown pottery. Inspired by traditional techniques and values, each functional piece is elevated by contemporary designs and mark marking in-keeping with the style of mid-century studio pottery. Working with locally sourced materials such as clay and wood ash he aims to capture a more earthen and elemental feel, allowing you to bring into your home a ‘living work of art’ which excites you with every use.
A bowl made from red Cornish clay and finished in a gloss glaze. This statement piece has been finished in a striped pattern in tones of brown and olive green which has been created using a wax-resist method. Unglazed on the base.
