Will Keating crafts wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery using handmade tools, local clay, and glazes from rocks and plant ash. He sources his own materials and builds his own kilns, firing each piece in gas, wood, or electric kilns, generally letting the material he is working with dictate how to fire.
This beautiful selection of tall medieval-style jugs is thrown in a dark stoneware clay body, blended with a local red earthenware dug in Hartshill. They are finished with Nuka and Tenmoku glaze, or both combined, where the off-white Nuka glaze melts into the deep black.
