Carly Breame is a ceramicist and researcher focused on working with discarded materials and waste to create beautiful household objects. Often partnering with restaurants, suppliers, and hotels Carly uses local clays, restaurant scraps, or production by-products such as fish bones, olive pits and tomato vines in her work resulting in unique colours and patterns within the glazes and clay. Interested in predominately functional ceramics and tableware she often also looks to traditional manufacturing methods and forms from the surrounding area to reflect the use of local materials.
These large serving plates feature a matt beige - nude glaze which has been made using crushed snail shells and dried grape vines in Umbria. It is also the ideal size for serving canapes, large sharing dishes or even pizzas!
